The Unfathomable

7:10 AM

There are some things that I try to understand but just do can't seem to....

like Why am I feeling so irritated right now when everything in my life seems so placidly fine?

like How can commitment be measured?

like Why procrastination gets to us all at times?

like Why in the world do so many choose to study in Australia and claim they go there for the international experience when, really, are there any international students there amongst the multitudes of Malaysians swarming what's left of down under??
Disclaimer : I have nothing against those studying there/choosing to, it's just something I don't get........

like How the universal law sucks sometimes?

like Why the future can be so uncertain to the point of making one feel so insecure?

like How you can go from completely adoring a person to completely hating his/her guts all in the time frame of a year?

like How can someone feel so sure of oneself, so confident and stead and a second later be shrouded in self doubt?

like Why the best the thing that can ever happen to a person can sometimes be the worst?

like Why we sometimes fail to get these things but still go about trying to fathom them?

like Who decides? When are decisions made? Based on what?

WHy, WHo, WHen, HoW, WHat???

Some things are better left in a blanket of mystery... Unfathomed, Unprovoked, Under covers..

Msians have bombarded Melborne, not to mention there are tons of other international students here.

Oh well, I'm one of them and I think the international experience here consists more of socialising with people from other countries but not Australians. Of course, there are more exposures to different cultures compared to msia and most importantly there's a chance to learn how to be more independant and responsible. [Not that we can't do it back home]

It may be just me. I'm one of the rare cases of Malaysians doing design in Melbourne. [RMIT doesn't count, RMIT is crap =), Swinburne!!!]

It started off with only 3 Malaysians in the whole first yr design faculty. At least now there are a little more, around 5?

There is no doubt that one will get more experience from USA or Europe [UK is not uncluded, the Malaysian community may be bigger compared to Aus]. However, it depends what kind of exposure you seek. At least over here you will have the chance to meet people from different Asian countries which is rather interesting as well. Furtheremore, I personally think that in most universities in the states, you get to meet more locals but not necessarily people from a vast range of culture.

In the end, it still depends on individuals. A Malaysian student can still keep in touch with their Malaysian buddies while going out there and meet new people from different cultures.

Haha.... I'm thinking of an exchange.... to gain more international experience?

Cheers!

hey hey erin!
Cool to hear it from ur perspective. Sounds a lot more convincing. *Smiles*
I guess where ever u do end up goin, an international experience is indeed an international experience whether or not there are more caucasians or hispanics or negroids or mongloids or whoever. I'd just like to be in a place that is least likely to be selected as a common designation. Did it at the college phase when almost everyone from CHS swarmed Taylor's College and I plan to do it again. But then again, I might receive an offer than I won't be able to refuse fm Aus... Who knows right?? So, don't hold ur breath, but I just might see u there...

Mike : don't worry! I don't have ne qualms of u gettin to aust... I guess, yea, it IS more affordable s opposed to ne of the rest where med is concerned. India's pretty good too y'know n Auckland seemingly is awesome when it comes to medical research. But i can see that ur mind's set, so go for it!! Yea! Feels like I haven't really seen u in ages... But u can always count on my blog to be updated to some extent, so even though v don't catch up s often, u'll b updated in a way... LOL. Can't help it, I have a fetish for words. U should update ur blog more often y'know, although I'm pretty sure aspiring doctors will have time for very little just coz their noses is always drowned in books... LOL.. M applying for every single place on the face of the earth, correction : every single caucasian occupied place on d face of the earth, but where i get into and where i choose to go is a whole diff story. Hope i see u soon one of these days....

Erin : *Wheeeeeeeeeee* I accept!! I'll be countin on u to show me ard if (READ : IFFFF) i get there. The pictures u took were so pretty! Inspiring!!! Are u sure ur not doin some photography course... Looks very professional to me.....

I'm having a photography subject this semester... I haven't really learn any techniques though, everything's by luck and chance. Of course, there's still my heavy instinct towards aesthetics. Hahahaha

Oh well, I can belanja you in KL if you happen to decide on going elsewhere =p
